  • Pruritus - Itching, Pruritus can result from drug reaction, food allergy, kidney or liver disease, cancers, parasites, aging or dry skin, contact skin reaction, such as poison ivy or unknown reasons.
  • Pubic Nits - Are lice eggs. They are hard to see and are often confused with dandruff or hair spray droplets. Nits are found firmly attacked to the hair shaft. They are oval and usually yellow to white. Nits take about a week to hatch. All nits must be removed to prevent infestation with ice. They can be removed with a special comb or with fingers. Topical preparations are available that loosen the "glue: that binds them to the hair, making removal easier.
  • Skin Lesion - An area of abnormal tissue change. Lesions vary in severity from harmless to serious.
  • Urticaria - Another name for the hives. Raised, ichy areas of skin that are usually a sign of an allergic reaction. Hives can be rounded or flat-topped but are always elevated above the surrounding skin. They reflect circumscribed dermal edema (local swelling of the skin.) The hives are usually well circumscribed but may be coalescent and will blanch with pressure.
